Single-ply system families
Commercial membranes include products from GAF, Carlisle-SynTec, Johns Manville, Holcim Elevate, Sika Sarnafil and Versico. Identify the installed sheet before choosing its seam, flashing, and accessory details. EPDM, TPO, PVC and KEE products use different seams, flashings and accessories. Confirm compatibility from the material identity, not color alone; a label from an old file may apply only to a former roof area.
Specialty membranes and fabricated sheets
SOPREMA offers commercial modified-bitumen, PVC and liquid-applied products; those assemblies require different surface and detail checks. Duro-Last makes PVC membrane and custom-fabricated sheets and accessories. Factory preparation can affect field layout, but connections, penetrations and later equipment changes still need inspection.
Use product documents with field evidence
Data sheets can identify a product family. Project details and submittals may show approved components and attachment. Warranty documents, if issued, set specific terms for a roof and do not prove present condition. We inspect the exposed sheet, seam, flashing, edges, drains and patches before selecting a compatible repair. Where identification is uncertain, the report marks the area and explains what test or opening could help.
A repair at a transition between manufacturers needs a detail for both materials. If the existing surface is wet or loose, a new patch may not solve the underlying issue. Photos, product labels, repair dates and marked roof plans help the owner track which system was checked and where the work stopped.
Choose by assembly, not logo
Send the building use, reported condition, records, roof area and access limits. The inspection will identify the assembly and its condition before any material is recommended. Repair, coating, recover and replacement options depend on the deck, insulation, attachment, drainage and transitions. Product details can then be matched to an installed roof assembly and a defined work scope. If records conflict with the roof in place, the field condition controls what we inspect next.
Questions About Roofing Manufacturers
No. Additions and repairs may use other products. We check material and transition points by section and note where the identification remains uncertain.
Only with a compatible detail for both sides. The installed membrane and accessory requirements determine the transition method.
No. It documents terms for an issued assembly. Inspection is needed to evaluate current leaks, wear, repairs and concealed conditions.
Provide submittals, product labels, repair invoices, closeout photos, roof drawings and the reported location. The facility contact can also confirm access limits.
Match documents to the installed roof
Send the product records, reported roof condition and access details. We will verify the visible system and set a repair boundary based on the building.
